Meet the Crew
Captain Christian Meyers has over 20 years of professional boating experience in local waters, as well as along the Gulf Coast from Texas to the Keys. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Flagler College and a USCG 50 Ton Master Captain License. Chris owns and operates East Pass Sailing Company with his wife Stephanie and friend Jon Hodges, but before that he had an early upbringing on the water from being raised in a local charter fishing family. If you want to go sailing, snorkeling, dolphin watching, or deep sea fishing you can bet that Chris knows where to go, and that he can show you the best side of Destin.
Captain Matthew Stilla has 10 years of professional boating and paddleboard instructing in local waters. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Project Management from NWFSC and a USCG 25 Ton Master Captain License. Before moving to Destin, Matt served his country in the US Navy and later as a firefighter/paramedic. Since finding paradise in 2010, he has taught paddleboarding and sailing to thousands of happy visitors to the Gulf Coast. You would have a hard time finding a more capable hand or a cooler guy to cruise with than Matt.
Captain Matthew Metcalfe has over 35 years of experience working on the water and 10 years in local waters. He holds a DSS Degree in Music/History Education, a 25 Ton Master Captain License, Lifeguard and Safety Instructor License, and a SCUBA certification as a PADI advanced open water diver. Matt is a board member of the Okaloosa County Water Sports Operators Coalition, as well as, a long time and beloved pastor at Shoreline Church. Matt’s passion for being on the water is only eclipsed by his love for Jesus, his family, and his fellow man.
Mate Kaeden Cook has two seasons of experience sailing aboard SpaceDancer. Recently graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School, Kaeden is pursuing a captain’s credential and a career in the maritime industry – to which we believe she is well suited. Her father is the previous First Mate, Captain Matthew Stilla, and she shares all of his best qualities. Here at EPSC she will earn her minimum maritime requirements to attend sea school in Fall 2026.
Mate Micah Schobey joined the crew Spring 2025 and has quickly become a trusted hand and valued member of the crew. A veteran, Micah served five years in the USAF Honor Guard at Arlington Cemetery in Washington D.C. After his service, Micah earned his Journeyman Electricianship and is now he working towards a Maritime Captains Credential.
